  • This was our 12th time staying in Millbank House so it really feels like coming home. Most of our stays have been in March for the Cheltenham NH Festival, but twice we have stayed in June which was wonderful as the garden was lovely and we were able to eat outside .
The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space. The large kitchen has two fridges ,one with deep freeze.
The Wi-Fi works throughout the house which is useful for WhatsApp as the mobile reception doesn’t work inside the house.
The central heating is efficient and wood burning stove in the sitting room. Logs are provided.
The owners are always extremely helpful if there is any query or problem. We are already looking forward to returning again next year.

  • We stayed at Mill Bank House between Christmas and New Year and had a wonderful time. We are a family of 10 who live in different parts of the country so really look forward to getting together. The house was fantastic and ideal for us. So clean and spacious and beautifully furnished. It is also in a lovely location. Really enjoyed our stay.

  • We have had such a fabulous weekend in Mill Bank House which we have totally fallen in love with. A beautiful house in such a picturesque setting. So the weekend was a great success altogether with the wedding we were attending. Gorgeous walks for the dog too! I’m quite sure we will be back.

  • We have just returned from Winson where we stayed at Mill Bank House with our two sons, daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren. This was a celebration for our 40th wedding anniversary.

It was like home from home. The house was beautifully clean, well-equipped and warm (we didn't need to use the wood burners). We loved the kitchen-dining room and the children loved sitting at the island. The bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The children loved playing in the garden (on the two occasions that weather allowed). Winson is a lovely, relaxing location and we would have liked to have been able to enjoy walking from the property but it was too wet.

We enjoyed a visit to Adam Henson's Farm (good value for money) and Crocodile World.

We would certainly recommend this property to friends.

  • The house and garden was perfect for our group of 5 couples. Very well furnished and equipped. Quiet and peaceful village, with lovely walks around and not far from busier (but not too busy) locations, e.g. Bibury and Northleach.

This was our second visit and we'd come again any time. A real treat. Thank you.

  • Having had a great family get-together last April - 6 adults, 4 children and a dog - we decided to do it again this year at Mill Bank House. We cannot fault this house and on returning this year it was like home from home! The weather was very kind and everyone enjoyed visiting the local farms, safari park etc.

  • Wilson is a beautiful Cotswold village. Although there are no shops or pubs it is only a short distance to either. The house is clean and comfortable with plenty of space for the nine adults to spend time with each other and to have personal space when required! Plenty of parking (5 cars) and a lovely garden with good views. Best of all we all had comfortable beds and enough bathrooms/showers to keep us satisfied. The large kitchen/diner was exactly what was needed for a birthday dinner and the two pubs visited in Barbsley and Foss Cross served excellent food. In a nutshell it did what it said on the tin!

  • We stayed at Mill Bank House for three days as a large family of 11 as we all had a wedding to go to at nearby Cripps Barn. I honestly can't put in to words how beautiful this cottage is, we were blow away by the spectacular views, the gorgeous interior and the tranquility of its location. Heidi the owner could not have been more helpful from the start of booking until we left. She recommend some nearby pubs and we had a dinner one evening at The Catherine Wheel which was lovely and very reasonable. We took advice from a previous reviewer and ordered an online food shop to be delivered as we knew beforehand we were in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds and there is no "corner shop" to nip out to, this is not a negative thing at all! Few things that actually didn't turn out to be bad things are there is no phone signal which again was a nice break from city living, the cottage has wifi, and a landline that can be used free of charge for local numbers. The facilities in the cottage are perfect, we didn't want to leave! Unbelievable views and breathtaking scenery. We are already talking about booking again in the Summer. Thanks again Heidi for making us feel so welcome and for sharing your beautiful home

  • Milbank house provided the perfect location for a family celebration. We loved the wood burners that gave a cosy atmosphere, though the house was toasty warm. The large kitchen breakfast room worked well for a large group of 9. We had some lovely walks and your recommendation of the Village Pub provided us with an excellent lunch.

I would have no hesitation recommending a visit to this lovely house and village, and would love to return myself to explore further afield.

  • As we walked through the door and in to the kitchen my best friend said "We've made it" and we all burst out laughing. We stayed here as we had a wedding to attend that was near by and it was such a good decision. The house is amazing, we couldnt fault it. The beds are super comfy and everything is immaculate. Heidi is very responsive with any questions you have and I think the price is so reasonable for what you get.

You will not be disappointed if staying here!

Top tip: If attending a wedding, book cabs in advance and shop around. We got really ripped off with our cabs but we had no choice as we booked so late.

  • Finding a really good rental property in a beautiful location which can take 6 adults, 2 children and three dogs is very difficult. But we did it! What a find!

The owner, Heidi , was extremely helpful and patient from the first enquiry. She always replied promptly and configured the bedrooms exactly how we asked.

The village of Winson is a delightful haven of peace and is one of the most beautiful Cotswold villages we have seen.

The lanes are so quiet and we found walking with dogs and children very easy. There are many public footpaths close to the cottage and it's only just over two miles into beautiful Bibury.

The cottage is perfectly furnished , tastefully decorated and extremely clean and tidy. Underfloor heating and log burners kept us cosy and warm and there was every piece of kitchen equipment we could possibly have wanted.

On arrival we found eggs, bread, butter and chocolate cake waiting for us along with lots of other store cupboard essentials.

The garden was ideal for 'dogs versus boys' football and the views of sheep grazing and swans swimming in the river was perfect.

We had the most wonderful long weekend with our lovely sons and grandchildren, eating round the large kitchen table was great for long chats and much laughing.

We did have Sunday lunch at the Swan in Bibury which was excellent.

We can highly recommend this property to groups of friends or families with mixed age groups. It's simply fabulous!

  • We have stayed in Millbank House for the Cheltenham NH Festival for the last 3 years. It is spacious, well equipped, nicely decorated, warm and comfy. Spotlessly clean with extremely comfy beds and plenty space for storing clothes. The kitchen/dining area is large, 2 fridges and a deep freeze make cooking for larger parties very easy. Having 2 sitting rooms

with TVs is a good idea. A lovely terrace has a large table for eating outside in the summer. The utility room has a good washing machine and dryer. The owners were particularly helpful getting a plumber to come promptly when there was a problem with the boiler.

The village is idyllic and a good base for exploring the Cotswolds.

We are already looking forward to returning in 2016.

  • We stayed at Mill Bank House in April as a large mixed family group for my dads 70th surprise celebrations - the youngest in the group being 6 months and the oldest....the man of the hour, granddad!

From the moment I started dealing with the owners, Heidi and her husband they were incredibly patient, helpful and accommodating. As it was a surprise that myself and my brother were arranging we had lots of questions about caterers, local pubs, the area etc and Heidi answered everything quickly and with invaluable knowledge.

As a result we had an amazing experience - Heidi took care to check how we would like the bedrooms configured which made a huge difference with our mixed age group, and pointed us to a fab couple of pubs locally, the Catherine Wheel for Sunday lunch and the Wheatsheaf at Northleach.

We also booked an amazing local caterer, Vicky Hughes of Green Fig Catering in Cirencester who was very charming and cooked the most amazing supper for us all, ably helped by a waitress / chefs help Victoria, which made it even more special.

The house itself is absolutely stunning. Its in the middle of rolling fields with sheep grazing directly next to the garden fence which the kids loved! There is a gorgeous stream running alongside the house which the kids loved exploring.....we do these big family holidays a couple of times a year and can honestly say this is the most child friendly (in terms of outdoor space to explore / pretty surroundings) that we've been to.

The décor is very tastefully done and had everything you need to make your stay comfortable - the birthday a cake and wine on arrival was a very sweet touch!

Overall I cant recommend this property, the surroundings, and Heidi herself enough. An astounding success from start to end (even before we arrived the cleaners kindly called to say we could check in slightly earlier (as we requested to make the most of the weekend!)

I almost don't want to post this review as we will definitely return and don't want it to be fully booked!! If you're considering this property, I genuinely cant recommend it highly enough.

Thank you very very much from the Luke Family for a weekend of special memories, love and laughter.....and one very happy and emotional granddad :)

  • Our family of 10 spent a perfect post-New Year week at Mill Bank House. Beautiful location near picture postcard village of Winson. The house has ample room for a large family gathering and is very well equipped. It feels like a family home and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Easy driving reach of most of the charming Cotswold villages.

  • The owner gave a very clear, accurate description of the house and location and asked questions regarding our needs re single/kingsize beds. The house was very clean and well equipped , there was plenty of clean towels and

It was an ideal location for attending a wedding at Cripps Barn and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

  • The house was set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. It was very well appointed, with attractive decor and furnishings. We were a party of 10 adults, and found the house to be perfect for a celebration weekend.

  • We stayed at Mill Bank House for the weekend for a wedding nearby. The house was lovely and spacious, plenty of bathrooms and hot water. Comfortable beds and wonderfully spacious kitchen. Couldn't fault a thing. Thanks Heidi!
